Iran exported 17,234 tons of shoes worth over 117 million dollars in the first eleven months of current Iranian Calendar year, which began March 20, 2012.
The amount shows 5.19 per cent decrease in terms of value and 20 per cent increase in terms of volume compared to the same period previous year, the IRNA News Agency reported.
Iraq with 50 per cent, Afghanistan with 17 per cent, and Azerbaijan with 15 per cent were the major destination markets for Iranian-made shoes.
Iran currently exports 30 per cent of its total shoes output.
Domestic production accounts for 90 percent of the country's shoes consumption.
Iran's shoes imports in the mentioned period also stands at 10 million dollars which is 26.7 per cent less than same period previous year.
