The Kazakh 'Passenger transportation' company plans to purchase 220 new passenger carriages in 2013, the company reported.
In particular the company plans to buy 158 domestic carriages Tulpar-Talgo, 49 carriages with improved consumer properties, one diesel-rail train consisted of 3 carriages and 10 electric carriages.
The carriages will be purchased within the program aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of services and this measure will enable the company to renew the passenger carriage fleet and reduce ts deterioration rate from 64 percent to 58 percent. Moreover the company will be able to use additional carriages on holidays and weekends when the passenger traffic is especially high.
The company also plans to launch new high-speed trains on the Almaty - Atyrau and Astana - Atyrau routs. The first train will be launched in June, the second in November.
