In 2012, Azerbaijan ranked second among the major investors in Georgia. As the Georgian Statistics Service reported, in 2012 Azerbaijan invested $72.7 million in the Georgian economy.
In the first quarter of 2012, Azerbaijan invested $19.7 million in Georgia, in the second quarter - $21 million, in the third - $2.2 million and in the fourth quarter - $34.2 million.
Azerbaijan invested $138.1 million in Georgia in 2011.
This year, Georgia expects investments worth one billion dollars which will be used mainly for the construction of a carbamide plant at Kulevi (Black Sea coast of Georgia).
Overall, in 2012, $865.2 million was invested in Georgia.
The Netherlands ranked first for its investment of $88 million. China ranked third with $28.5 million investments.
