The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee revealed there have been1540 instances of administrative offenses in January-February 2013, the committee said today.
Around 31 were related to smuggling attempts, 40 - undeclared smuggled goods, goods or money and 1242 - the failure to submit the documents. Around 41 violations of customs legislation were registered in Jan.-Feb.
According to the information, around 36 registered facts were related to smuggling, 22 - illegal drug trafficking.
Around 6.63 kilogrammes of drugs were seized during the reporting period. The fact of importing goods without excise stamps was also registered.
According to the committee, 50 people were arrested as suspects in January and February.
