Swiss Minister of Economy Johann Schneider-Ammann will pay an official visit to Astana this week, according to the press service of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan.
During the visit the sides intend to discuss the possibility of establishing joint ventures for the development of tantalum deposits and construction of processing facilities.
"Swiss Minister of Economy Johann Schneider-Ammann will pay an official visit to Astana this week. During his visit, the first meeting of the Kazakh-Swiss Business Council will take place in the capital," the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan announced.
Co-Chairman of the business council from the Kazakh side is the Chairman of the Management Board of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Vladimir Shkolnik, and from the Swiss side the president and owner of the Stadler Rail Group, Peter Spuler.
"The sides will discuss specific proposals on the development of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of investments and initiatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the transition to a 'green economy', the report says.
Following the meeting, it is planned to sign the Charter of the Business Council and define the date and venue of the second meeting of the Business Council.
