The IDB has allocated $200.05 million for the realisation of the project for reconstruction of the water supply and sanitation system in the Dashkesan, Gadabay, Gazakh, Samukh, Astara and Tartar regions of Azerbaijan.

In 2013, the Saudi Fund for Development allocated $35 million for the renovation and extension of the water supply and sewerage system of the city of Khyrdalan. The project will start in the second half of 2013.

In addition, according to Azersu, 26 per cent of the work has been conducted by within the framework of projects funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). In 2012, the Korean government provided a soft loan of $43.5 million to implement the project for reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage systems in Pirshagi. In addition, the project on reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage systems in the Kurdakhani settlement is also undertaken through a KOICA grant. The Korean government provided a grant of $26.18 million on the basis of the agreement signed between Azersu and KOICA on October 14, 2011.

According to the information, some seven per cent of the work has been conducted within the framework of a joint project on 'Restoration of the water supply and sewerage system' between the governments of Azerbaijan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Under the credit agreement signed on May 29, 2009, the Japanese side allocated a loan of 38 billion yen ($400 million) for the execution of these works.

The project involves two loans from KfW for a total of 137 million euros and a grant of 10 million euros from SECO. The funds are intended to finance the modernisation of the water supply and sewerage systems in Ganja and Sheki (II and III stages of 'The open municipal infrastructure programme').
