Tajikistan asks IDB to invest in infrastructure projects

Tajikistan requests the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) actively participate in the implementation of the infrastructure projects in Tajikistan, Avesta.Tj reported on Tuesday.

According to the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, the issue of investments was discussed in Dushanbe on Monday.

During the discussion the sides mentioned that the IDB may play an active role in the implementation of Tajikistan's investment projects, that are important for the whole Central Asian region.

The projects on the construction of hydropower plants, automobile and rail roads are important for the whole region.

Tajikistan joined the IDB in December 1996.
