According to the media, the Boeing 737-800 airliner operated a 18-hour flight on the route from Seattle (United States) via Goose Bay (Canada) and Birmingham (United Kingdom) to Ashgabat. It is the second aircraft of this type for the purchase following a contract signed with the U.S. aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing in July 2011 in accordance with the decree of the president.

The flight which refuelled in Canada and the United Kingdom was carried out by a Turkmen Howa Yollary crew. The range of non-stop flights operated by the Boeing 737-800aircraft extends to 5600 kilometres which allows for operating passenger flights to Istanbul, Moscow, Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt and other cities of the Eurasian continent, according to the Turkmen Airlines.

Turkmen Howa Yollary also reports that another airliner of this model will arrive in Turkmenistan in the near future.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft is known for high efficiency, comfort and a capability of carrying up to 160 passengers. Its cruising speed amounts to 850 kilometres per hour.
