Turkmenistan has launched an important agricultural campaign, harvest season, the Ministry of Agriculture of the country stated.

This year it is expected to collect 860,000 hectares sowed as winter crops, 1.6 million tons of grain, including 450 thousand tons in Akhal province, 380 in Mary province, 350 thousand in Lebap province, 300 thousand in Dashoguz and 120 thousand in Balkan provinces.

The State Association 'Turkmengallaonumleri' is going to pay grain growers for the harvest via local subsidiaries from the state-owned commercial bank Daykhanbank.

According to a presidential decree Turkmenistan created a State Commission for organized harvest of cereal crops in 2013.

Over 1.2 million tons of wheat was harvested in 2012. In 2011, despite a drought year, this number was only 1.3 million. 'Turkmengallaonumleri State Association for grains is allowed to realize the surplus harvest volumes overflowing the domestic demands at foreign markets.
