The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will adopt a new strategy for operations in Azerbaijan by late 2013, head of the bank's representative office in the country Neal McCain told Trend today.
"Currently, we are working on the final version of the document," he said. "The strategy will be published in the autumn on our website. Those concerned will be able to take part in the discussions."
He added that the strategy is expected to be adopted in December 2013.
"This paper focuses on three main objectives, namely the diversification of the country's economy, banking sector development and the improvement of the quality of corporate governance," he said. "We are working closely with the Azerbaijani government and our partners on these issues."
The strategy of EBRD activity in Azerbaijan covers three years.
