Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 8 / Trend, D.Azizov /

Aral Sea Operating Comp (Aral Sea) has announced an international tender in Uzbekistan to render the supervising services (quality control) in field of 3D seismic survey in the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea, the operator of the project Aral Sea reported on Friday.

According to the terms of the tender, the organizations with annual volume of work (gross income) worth not less than $1 million for the last three years, qualified supervisors with experience at least the last five years and not less than three year-experience, similar in nature and degree of difficulty.

The bids will be accepted until July 5.

It was earlier reported that the Aral Sea Operating Company (Aral Sea) announced a tender for a 3D seismic survey within the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) in the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea in early April. The tender results will be summarized in the first half of 2013.
3D seismic survey work will be conducted under the minimum programme for a further geological survey in the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea approved in August 2011.

As it was reported earlier, the PSA on oil and gas exploration in the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea was signed within the international consortium in August 2006. The consortium included Uzbekneftegaz, Malaysian Petronas (it left the consortium in May 2011 and its share was distributed among other participants), Russian Lukoil Overseas, the Korean KNOC and Chinese CNPC. The PSA came into force in January 2007. Petronas left the international consortium carrying out exploration in the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea under a production sharing agreement (PSA) in May 2011.

According to the agreement, participants of the consortium will initially have 10 percent of the output, while Uzbekistan's minimum share is 50 percent.

In 2011, the consortium fully implemented a programme for exploratory work to the volume of 2941 kilometres of seismic work using a 2D method by drilling two exploratory wells.
The project cost will total $110.2 million.

A new field of hydrocarbons in the Western Aral, with a preliminary estimate of 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves was opened following the initial stage of research and exploration. Based on seismic data, six prospective structures were revealed, four of which are certified and prepared for deep drilling.

The consortium decided to additionally invest $ 25 million in the contract area exploration by 2014.

The thorough search and evaluation will be the main directions of the PSA further implementation to discover new and estimate hydrocarbon reserves in the discovered fields.
