Russian Bank VTB interested in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with the chairman of the Board of Bank VTB JSC Andrei Kostin, the press service of Akorda reported.

During the meeting, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that VTB Bank, one of the largest banks not only in Russia but also in Europe, has been actively involved in lending to the private and corporate sector in Kazakhstan.

"Extremely favorable conditions have been created within the industrial-innovative program for those who are implementing projects in our country. Kazakhstan actively promotes the development of small and medium-sized businesses and the pace of its lending is growing.

Overall, today's banking system is developing, there is growing banks' capital, " the president of Kazakhstan said, the press service of the head of state reported.

Kazakh President also drew attention to the need for increased co-operation on the development of entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan with the functioning of the Single Economic Space.

In turn, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank VTB JSC expressed his gratitude for the meeting, and noted that the VTB Group is actively operating in Kazakhstan.

"We have plans to expand cooperation. Besides, the integration processes are ongoing, which increase the possibility of cross-border business. We are interested in working with large local companies, which are now entering the world and European level. Thus, our goal is to explore the opportunities available here," Kostin said.

Bank VTB is a leading Russian banking group, offering a wide range of banking services in Russia, the CIS, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and the United States. The subsidiary bank is present in Kazakhstan since 2008.
