Azerbaijan, Baku, June 12 / Trend. A. Akhundov /

Another amendment to the Azerbaijani Tax Code will outlıne a stımulus of cashless payments and new restrictions on cash payments, Azerbaijani First Deputy Minister of Taxes Natig Amirov told the media today.

"This package is being discussed with state agencies," he said. "The developed proposals cover segments of the population. They can be called a package of measures aımed at stimulating cashless payments. We believe that they will be submitted for discussion by late 2013. If they are accepted, they will be applied next year."

It was previously planned to include the measures on stimulating cashless payments in the package of proposals on amendments to the tax legislation, which came into force in 2013. However, a decision was made to postpone the discussion of the proposals for this year due to the need of their revision.

Taking into account that the increase in the volume of cashless payments is one of the main sources of significant expansion of the tax base, Azerbaijan intends to catch up to developed countrıes ın Europe very soon.

The restrictıon of purchase-sale operations within a single transaction, or for a specified period of time has also been proposed.
