Tehran province's water consumption marked a new record last week, reaching an average of 3.2 million cubic meters, Alireza Nozaripour, an official with Tehran Water and Wastewater Company said on Sunday.
According to Nozaripour, the country's precipitation faced a 30-per cent decrease in the previous calendar year, which ended on March 20.
The reservoir of the country's dams has also decreased by 40 per cent, he said.
Iran's water consumption is more than in the European countries, Nozaripour explained.
