Azerbaijani bank joins Georgian securities market

Azerbaijan's Pasha Bank plans to enter the Georgian securities market through its branch there, Pasha Bank chairman of the board Farid Akhundov told the media today.

Pasha Bank intends to render market maker services to Georgian customers to help them find investors in the country and abroad, including Azerbaijan.

"We are actively working to examine Georgian legislation regulating the securities market," he added. "We are reexamining existing issuers, as well as those who are planning to do something. So, we are working in all spheres. We have a little experience in this sphere and the desire to develop. This will be interesting. At least, potential Georgian issuers have a great interest in these services. We are optimistic about the development of this market in Georgia."

Pasha Bank Georgia began operating in February 2013.

Pasha Bank was founded in June 2007. It operates under Azerbaijani Central Bank's license No 250 dated November 28, 2007. The main goal of the bank is to strengthen leadership in rendering services to the corporate clients, qualitative business growth in priority directions determined by the strategy, as well as to create and permanently develop the long-term and reliable relations.

Pasha Bank, alongside with Pasha Insurance, PASHA Life, Pasha Travel and Pasha Construction is included in PASHA Holdings, which is an investment company, rather than a classical holdings firm. The Pasha Group also includes Kapital Bank, where the holding owns 99.75 percent of assets.
