Turkmenistan, Russia to hold joint business forum in Belgorod

At present, preparations for the fourth Turkmen-Russian economic forum to be held in Belgorod (Russia) from August 7-9, are underway, the Turkmen government said today.

According to the report, the forum is one of the events held under the chairman of the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of CIS member-states in 2013.

The event is being held to strengthen the trade-economic cooperation between communities in Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, master new markets, determine promising areas of cooperation and to create favorable conditions for intensifying the partnership among the business structures of the two countries.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time.

Dates of the visit will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.

Russia is the largest trade partner of Turkmenistan. In recent years, cooperation has intensified with major regions of the Russian Federation, including Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as other subjects of the Russian Federation.

The largest training and commercial service centre of KAMAZ in Central Asia is located in Ashgabat as the total number of car models of the brand in Turkmenistan is more than 10,000.

Cooperation is being developing in the fuel and energy complex: Russian Gazprom regularly purchases Turkmen gas, Tatneft JSC conducts works in the western region of Turkmenistan, Itera is involved in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
