Results of negotiations with Bank of Japan for International Cooperation discussed in Turkmenistan

The results of negotiations with the representatives of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) were discussed at a meeting of the Turkmen government, the Turkmen government said today.

According to the report, the Turkmen have been examining the possibility of participating in joint investment projects with Japanese companies in petrochemicals, gas processing, machine building, electricity and other spheres since early 2013.

President Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Tokyo in 2009 gave an impetus to bilateral relations. Several intergovernmental documents and contracts were signed with JGC Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation, Kawasaki Plant Systems, Ltd and Sojitz Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corporation, Sojitz Corporation, Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation.

According to Tokyo, Japan's high technologies and Turkmenistan's rich natural resources are mutually complementary.

Several projects are implemented in Turkmenistan at the expense of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

Japan's supplies of modern road-building and land-digging technique are an established form of cooperation.
