A rich copper deposit has been discovered in the area of Kure, in the Turkish province of Kastamonu, the Anadolu agency reported today.
Copper reserves are estimated at 25 million tons. According to the information, this is very high quality copper which will be extracted in Turkey.
This deposit has been developed since 2008. It is expected that the production of copper ore at the deposit is scheduled for early 2014.
It is possible that reserves could exceed 30 million tons after production is launched.
Copper ore deposits in Turkey are located mainly in the provinces of Artvin, Giresun, Rize, Elazıg, Kastamonu and Siirt.
