The third international cotton exhibition fair in Turkmenistan will take place in the Sergi Koshgi exhibition palace in Ashgabat on November 23-24, 2013, the event organizers' statement said.
Turkmenpagta (Turkmencotton) State Concern, The State commodity and raw materials exchange of Turkmenistan and State Chamber of Commodity and Industry are exhibition organizers.
According to the report, the main objectives of the cotton exhibition-fair are the extension of long-term cooperation with international organizations and companies -end-users of cotton fiber, cotton products, as well as to familiarize consumers with the quality parameters of Turkmen cotton, achievements and prospects in the field of raw cotton processing, production of cotton products, trade and logistics.
The exhibition will host a conference on "Cotton production in Turkmenistan and the world market" which will be dealt with pressing issues that the world cotton and textile industry, as well as countries in the region, face now.
Particular attention will be paid to the issues of promotion of Turkmen cotton products in the world market, the current challenge, research and investment in the cotton producing sector and the cotton processing industry of Turkmenistan.
Cotton is planted in 5 regions in Turkmenistan: Akhal, Mari, Lebap, Dashoghuz and Balkan. Cotton harvesting is held from August to October.
Medium staple cotton of Upland kind is planted in all regions, long staple cotton of Pima kind - in Akhal and Mari regions. Cotton production (cotton, lint, uluk) is sold through The Chamber of Commodities and Industry.
