Passenger transportations within Eurasian transport corridor increase by almost 10 percent

In January-July 2013 some 34.1 million tons of cargos have been transported by the Eurasian transport corridor through Azerbaijan's territory, which is 3.4 percent more than the same period of the last year, a statement of Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee said.

Some 46.4 percent out of the total volume of transported cargos accounted for motor transport, 35.9 percent - rail transport and 17.7 percent - sea transport.

According to the report, some 165.5 million people were transported in January-July through the corridor, which is 9.5 percent more than the same period last year.

Revenues from transportation of cargos through the corridor amounted to 265.6 million manats, which is 6.3 percent more than the same period of the last year.

In turn, the amount of passenger transportations amounted to 55.5 million manats, which is 17 percent more than in January-July of 2012.
