Turkmenistan’s oil refinery to sign contract with Turkish company

Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex plans to conclude a contract at its own expense with the Turkish company Hatipoglu Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

The corresponding decree was signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The decree of Turkmen President covers the design and construction of an automated railroad overpass for draining and filling light oil products at the Caspian Kenar accumulation and loading oil enterprise.

The facility, equipped with modern equipments, will be commissioned in December 2015 in accordance with the project, and will meet all safety requirements for the environment.

The contract will be concluded in accordance with the program on the development of oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan in 2012-2016, as well as for improving the quality of services in the supply of oil products to consumers.

The main volumes of oil are processed in the western Turkmenistan, in the Balkan velayat (region) at Turkmenbashi refinery - the largest enterprise in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan plans to increase oil refining capacity to 15 million tons a year by 2015, up to 20 million tons in 2020, to 22 million tons in 2025, to 30 million tons in 2030. This will be achieved by the construction of three new refineries and modernization of existing enterprises, including in the cities of Turkmenbashi and Seydi.
