Turkish Ziraat Bankası’s profit increases by almost 40 per cent in 2013

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend: Turkish Ziraat Bankası's profit increased by 37 per cent amounting to two billion Turkish liras in 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, Sabah newspaper reported today.

According to the newspaper, the bank's assets for the first nine months of 2013 amounted to 195.8 billion Turkish liras. These hit 161.1 billion Turkish liras in 2012.

According to the newspaper, the bank's loan portfolio for the first nine months amounted to 100 billion Turkish liras.

According to the statement, Ziraat Bankası intends to open 150 branches throughout Turkey.

Ziraat Bankasi is the state agricultural bank of Turkey founded in 1888. It is the second largest bank after Is Bankasi among Turkish financial institutions. The bank has 1280 branches and more than 22,800 employees.

The official exchange rate is 2.0358 TRY/USD on Nov. 12.
