Japanese companies intend to invest in Turkey

Japanese companies will invest in various sectors of the Turkish economy, head of the investment support department under the Turkish Cabinet of Ministers Ilker Ayci was quoted today by Sabah newspaper as saying.

According to Ayci, the representatives of 120 Japanese companies, who intend to discuss investments in the country's economy, are expected to visit Turkey one of these days.

"Currently, the number of Japanese companies working in Turkey exceeds 200," Ayci said.

He also stressed that Japanese companies working in Turkey intend to increase investment volume in the country's economy.

Earlier it was reported that Turkish Minister of Economy Zafer Caglayan invited Japanese companies to invest in the country.

According to the Turkish Statistics Institute as of 2012, imports from Japan to Turkey hit $3.596 billion.
