The Georgian government owes $12.4 million to Azerbaijan, the National Bank of Georgia told Trend on Dec. 28.
The Georgian government's external debt and loans, received under the state guarantee, totaled $4.2 billion, according to the Georgian Finance Ministry's data for Nov. 30, 2013. Since early 2013, Georgia's state debt decreased by $154.3 million. Out of the total sum the Georgian government's debt totals $4.1 billion.
The debt to other governments stands at $792.8 million. The creditor countries include Germany- $345.8 million, Russia - $101.6 million, Japan - $106.8 million.
Some $500 million account for government securities - eurobonds.
Georgia's lenders also include international institutions. The debt to them totals $2.8 billion, in particular, the World Bank (International Development Association - $1.3 billion, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development - $393.5 million, the International Monetary Fund - $273.2 million), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - $104.8 million, International Fund for Agricultural Development - $26 million, the Asian Development Bank - $456.8 million, and the European Investment Bank - $164.9 million.
Some $147.7 million out of the total debt is owed by the National Bank. The International Monetary Fund is the creditor.
These figures do not include funds for debt service. External debts are shown taking into account the exchange rates for Nov. 30, 2013.
