The male conductors who have worked on international trips of the Azerbaijani railway before, have been sent on internal trips, head of the CJSC`s press service Nadir Azmamedov said to Trend on Monday.
Claims of being fired are unreasonable, because those who have worked on international trips, have been sent on internal trips.
"All the guides have been sent on internal trips, where the salary is twice as high as on international trips", he said.
For example, if on international trips the salary of conductors is 150 manats, but on internal trips it is twice as much, according to Azmamedov. He thinks that dissatisfaction of the conductors has been caused by the fact that on international trips they could have gained income from an illegal transportation of goods.
The decision about the replacement of male conductors with females has been made in order to increase the level of service, prevent cases of delay of trains at checkpoints because of any illegal transportation of commodities.
