In 2013, the total volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan, that is the volume of goods produced and industrial services rendered, amounted to 33.7 billion manat, which is 1.8 per cent more than in 2012, according to a report of Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee.
'The volume of production in the non-oil sector grew by 4.8 per cent, while in the oil sector by 0.1 per cent', the report says.
According to the report, an increase was observed in the non-oil sector in 2013 in the production of footwear and leather products, printing products, cars and other vehicles.
During the reporting period, the volume of production in the mining industry totalled 24.9 billion manat with a weight of 74 per cent over the entire industrial production which is 0.7 per cent more than in 2013.
Oil production in 2013 stood at 43.1 million tons, while production of natural gas was 17.9 billion cubic meters, oil production increased by 0.2 percent and gas production by 3.6 per cent compared to 2012.
The volume of production in the manufacturing industry in 2013 totalled 6.77 billion manat with a weight of 20.1 per cent, which is higher than in 2013 by 5.8 per cent. Manufacturing, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 3.2 per cent, while water supply, treatment and recycling of waste increased by 11.6 per cent compared to 2012.
