Production of Iranian Tiba car model increases by 74.7 percent

Production of Iranian Tiba car model has increased by 74.7 percent during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2013) compared to the same period of the last year, Iran's Persian Khodro portal reported on Jan. 27.
Subsidiary of the Iranian car maker Saipa in the Iranian city of Kashan has produced 31,032 Tiba model cars during the mentioned period.
The production of the Tiba in the last Iranian calendar month (December 22, 2013- January 20, 2014) has increased by 14.3 percent compared to the same month of the preceding year, the report said.
Tiba is an Iranian car made by Saipa that was unveiled in December 2008 as "Miniator". The car was originally named "Miniator", based on the "S81" platform. The car uses an improved KIA Pride platform.
Tiba, has been granted permission to enter the Russia market recently, Iranian Jahanesanat newspaper reported on Jan.7. Tiba also can be exported to Kazakhstan and Belarus with existing custom agreements among the countries. Earlier in 2012, Tiba, was granted permission to enter the Ukraine market, after passing Euro 4 tests.
Saipa auto manufacturing company plans to export 20 percent of its products by 2016, IRNA quoted export manager of the company, Mohsen Dastkhosh Javan as saying in October, 2013.
Iran exported 4,824 sedans during the first nine months of the current solar which indicates an 88.97 percent decrease compared to the same period of last year.
The value of the exported cars was around $33 million which is 87.24 percent less than in the same period of last year, according to the Iranian Custom Administration's latest monthly report released on Dec. 28.
Iran's car production stood at 576,663 in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year.
Some 489,182 sedan cars, 81,349 pickup trucks, 5,711 trucks, 341 buses, and 1 minibus were produced in the country in the mentioned period.
