Iran's exports to Afghanistan are expected to surpass $4 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (to end March 20, 2015).
Farhad Mojallali, an official with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, said that Afghanistan is a good market for Iran to export technical and engineering services, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on April 29.
"Foodstuff, construction materials, detergents, medicines, plastic, and fuel production are Iran's major exported items to Afghanistan," he explained.
"Iran mainly exports goods to Afghanistan mainly from Khaorasan Razadi, Southern Khorasan, and Sistan and Baluchistan provinces," he said.
"Tehran exported some $2.416 billion worth of goods to Kabul in the previous year (ended on March 20)," he said, adding that the country imported $32 million worth of goods from Afghanistan in the mentioned period.
