Iran's Industry, Mine, and Trade ministry reported that the country produced over 18.232 million tons of cement in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 - June 20).
Nearly 78 percent of the mentioned figure (some 14.356 million tons) was supplied to the domestic market in the mentioned month, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on July 8.
Some 19.35 million tons of clinker was also produced in Iran during the mentioned period.
Iran produced some 6.642 million tons of cement and 6.423 million tons of clinker in the third calendar month (May 21 - June 20).
Iran's cement output amounted to 69.68 million tons in the twelve-month period which ended on March 20.
Some 71.904 million tons of clinker was also produced in the mentioned period.
Iran exported 18.812 million tons of cement and clinker in the mentioned 12-month period, which shows 37.8 percent increase compared to its preceding year.
Cement accounted for 14.348 million tons of the mentioned amount.
Some 55.622 million tons of cement was also consumed domestically in the mentioned period.
Iran with total production of 65 million tons ranked as the world's third largest cement producer in 2012.
Former Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari said in August 2012 that the country's cement production capacity will reach 110 million tons by 2015.
