Azerbaijan invests about $90 mln in Georgia in 2013

Azerbaijan invested $89.9 million in Georgia in 2013.

Georgia's National Statistics Office (GeoStat) told Trend Aug. 15 that according to specified data, Azerbaijan last year ranked fourth among the largest investors of Georgia.

The Netherlands ranks first in terms of foreign direct investments (FDIs) with a 16 percent share in the total foreign investments in the Georgian economy. It is followed by Luxembourg (a 15 percent share) and China (a 10 percent share).

The shares of Georgia's largest investors in total foreign capital investments stood at 82 percent.

According to specified data, the total FDIs in Georgia were $942 million in 2013, or three percent more than the expectations, and 3.3 percent more than the figures for 2012.

Last year, the reinvestments amounted to 29 percent of the FDIs.
