Iran is the 5th biggest exporter of iron ore to China.
Keivan Ja'fari Tehrani, a member of the association of Iranian iron ore producers and exporters, said China accounts for 90 percent of Iran's iron ore export, IRNA news agency reported Sept. 28.
Iran produced 49 million metric tons of iron ore and exported some 24 million metric tons of this product in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended March 20, 2014.
Pakistan, China, the UAE, Turkmenistan, and Iraq were the main destinations for Iran's exported iron ore.
Iron ore was at the top of the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods in the previous calendar year (ended March 20), but it dropped to the fifth place in the first two months of current year.
The global price of iron ore fell below $90 per ton in 2014.
Iran exported about 20 million metric tons of iron ore in the previous calendar year, which ended March 20.
