EY Azerbaijan sponsored the 4th AmCham Annual Tax Conference and provided tax professionals a comprehensive overview and up-to-date coverage of the regulations and procedures in Azerbaijan.
Zaur Gurbanov, Tax & Law Manager, gave a presentation on "Increasing Tax Compliance for Personal Income Tax, International Experience and Azerbaijan." The presentation was dedicated to the personal income tax of individuals, both employees and entrepreneurs.
"The topic is very detailed and requires analysis and discussion. Therefore we've mainly focused on conceptual issues and presented solutions," said Zaur.
During the presentation Zaur also focused on significant problems in the taxation of individuals' income in Azerbaijan and in other countries, including members of the OECD. He also emphasized possible solutions by comparing international practice with Azerbaijan's practice.
The Conference gave professionals the opportunity to discuss and resolve issues of common interest and exchange expertise.
