Construction of one of airports canceled in Turkey

The airport construction canceled in the Turkish province of Adana, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet said Dec. 22.

The reason was Kocoglu company's bankruptcy, which was engaged in the construction.

The airport construction began in Adana in 2013 and was estimated at 347 million euros.

Kocoglu company's bank debt is 87 million lira.

The company was also engaged in the implementation of six major projects, according to the newspaper.

There are 69 airports in Turkey, 21 of them - international, 31 - for domestic flights, as well as 17 military airfields.

The official exchange rate is 2.3263 TRY/USD Dec. 23.
