Azerbaijan offers to use drones in agriculture

The first drone, which was named "Simurq", was introduced in Azerbaijan, the design engineer Rizvan Gasimov told Trend.

It is reported that the device was demonstrated Dec.24 in Baku within the framework of the First Republican Exhibition of Intellectual Property and Innovations.

The device can be used in various industries, for example, in cartography, in emergency situations, in the field of agriculture, Gasimov said.

"Simurq drone has an effective camera and stabilization system," said Gasimov. "The radius of the surveillance of the device reaches 10 kilometers. Simurq is able to work 17-30 minutes in the off-line mode."

A number of structures of Azerbaijan is already interested to add this aircraft to their armory, according to Gasimov. He went on to add that at present, foreign counterparts of the device are at the service of the ministry of emergency situations.

In different countries, such aircrafts are used in different ways. In Japan, the drones are used on the rice fields. High definition image makes it possible to pinpoint the problem area of the field. In Mexico, the devices are used not only in agriculture, but also in the fight against drug trafficking.

In some countries, drones are used to patrol the borders, monitor construction, deliver medicines to remote areas, etc.
