Sumgait Technologies Park (STP) installed equipment for the production of high-voltage cables, Specialist of the STP Department of Public Relations and Business Development Mehman Iskandarov told Trend Jan.29.
He said that the new equipment will make it possible to establish the production of cables with capacity of up to 500 kV.
"At present, 220-kilovolt cables are already being produced on the basis of STP," said Iskandarov. "The new equipment installed on capacities enables to expand production of 330-kV and 500-kV cables."
Sumgait Technologies Park built a tower of 130 meters for the production of high-voltage cables.
Deployment of their production will allow Azerbaijan to take the first place in the region and in general in the CIS, as their production is not yet established in the post-Soviet countries, Iskandarov said earlier.
At present, about 10,000 kinds of cables are produced at the Sumgait Technologies Park.
