Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 9
By Azad Hasanli - Trend:

Kazakhstan offers Azerbaijan to create a green corridor to supply the agricultural products to this country, the head of the State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan Daulet Ergozhin said at a meeting with the chairman of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev in Baku Feb. 9.

"We know that Azerbaijan has very well developed agriculture and we would like to become one of the sale markets," he said.

At the same time, he said that Kazakhstan could also supply a range of products to Azerbaijan.

The matter rests in the supply of the products that are not grown in Azerbaijan, rather than the competition with local producers.

Aliyev said that Azerbaijan would welcome the opening of a green corridor with Kazakhstan.

He said that Azerbaijan and Russia intend to sign a document on unimpeded transportation of agricultural products of vegetable origin via a green corridor, adding that currently, the document has already passed the interstate procedures.

Aliyev said that it can be taken as a basis for signing the relevant document with Kazakhstan.

According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan as of 2014 amounted to $250.9 million. Around $221.06 million accounted for the import from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and $29.8 million - the export to Kazakhstan.
