Kazakhstan plans to increase investments in agriculture by 20 billion tenge (185.05 tenge = $1) in 2015

Kazakhstan plans to increase investments in agriculture by 20 billion tenge (185.05 tenge = $1) in 2015, Kazinform reported.

Member of Kazakh Majilis (Parliament's lower chamber), chairman of Majilis Agrarian Committee Roman Madinov announced these plans at a briefing in the office of the Central Communications Service on Feb.18.

"Majilis of the Parliament received a draft law on the revised budget for 2015, and I want to inform you that the funding for Agriculture Ministry will be increased by 20 billion tenge. It means that the government and the parliament are well aware that agriculture requires more funding in the current economic environment," Madinov said.
The member of the parliament noted that experience shows that agriculture helps to achieve positive indicators..

"In 2008, in the time of the first global crisis, it was agriculture which showed growth in volume of production and monetary terms more that other spheres of economy in Kazakhstan in 2008-2009," he said.
