Turkey is interested in exporting the domestically produced cars to Azerbaijan, Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Ministry told Trend Oct. 19.
As the ministry said, Turkey is interested in exporting cars to a number of other countries as well once the car's mass production starts.
Last week, Turkey for the first time showcased a prototype of its new domestically produced car, modelled on Sweden's Saab 9-3.
The car is expected to be put for mass production in 2020. It will have various modifications and engines of different capacity.
Earlier, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık said Turkey acquired a license from Sweden's car maker Saab to produce a car modelled on Saab 9-3.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in terms of car production. It produces cars of such brands as Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN.
