TeliaSonera’s revenues reduced in Azerbaijan

TeliaSonera company's revenues on the Azerbaijani market decreased by 4.6 percent in January-September 2015 compared to the same period of 2014 (from 2.810 million to 2.680 million Swedish krona (SEK), TeliaSonera's report as of the first nine months of 2015 said.

According to the report, TeliaSonera's net sales decreased by 4.8 percent from 2.801 million to 2.666 million SEK in January-September 2015 compared to the same period of 2014.

The company's profit before paying interest, taxes, depreciation and depreciation allocations (EBITDA margin) increased from 55 to 55.9 percent in Azerbaijan in January-June 2015 compared to January-September 2014.

TeliaSonera is the main founder of the Azerbaijani mobile operator Azercell. According to TeliaSonera, Azercell's subscriber base reached 4.185 million in January-September 2015 or by 0.2 percent more than in the same period in 2014.

TeliaSonera announced the reduction of its presence in the Eurasian region (Azerbaijan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova and Tajikistan) in September 2015. It intends to fully leave the Eurasian region. As part of its new strategy, TeliaSonera will concentrate on the activity in Europe, particularly in Sweden.

Fintur Holdings B. V, in which TeliaSonera owns 58.55 percent, has a share in Azercell Telecom. Currently, the Turkish Azertel TelekomÜnİkasyon YatIrIm DIş Tİcaret A.ş., which is part of Fintur Holdings BV, is a 100 percent shareholder of Azercell.
