Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 27
By Azad Hasanli - Trend:
The share of female entrepreneurs in Azerbaijani small and medium business has reached 28 percent, Jala Hajiyeva, the executive director of the Azerbaijan Micro-Finance Association, said in Baku Oct. 27.
Hajiyeva made this statement at the conference entitled "A new stage in the development of entrepreneurship: targets and opportunities."
She said that earlier, the share of female entrepreneurs in Azerbaijani small and medium-sized entrepreneurship reached only four percent.
She said that Azerbaijan pays special attention to the development of entrepreneurship among women and young people, adding that however, the potential of female entrepreneurs is not fully used in the country.
The decree signed by Azerbaijan's president on suspending the inspection of entrepreneurship activities will also contribute to the development of entrepreneurship among women, according to Hajiyeva.
The decree shows that the development of business is in the center of Azerbaijani government's attention, she added.
"Such reforms will give impetus to the development of entrepreneurship and increase the level of competitiveness in the country," said Hajiyeva. "Moreover, the government support to business increases the interest of foreign investors as well."
