The Russian legislation on road tax has been changed. These changes affect the supply of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Russia, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said Nov. 20.

"The amendments to the law caused discontent among a number of transport companies," the statement said. "As a result, some transport companies went on strike and suspended their work."

This situation had an impact on freight transport, which caused problems with the supply of Azerbaijani agricultural products to Russia.

"The goods are transported through the Azerbaijani border without any problems," the statement said. "But there are obstacles in the transportation of goods to the destinations, in particular, Moscow and its suburbs."

There are no problems in the activity of customs checkpoints on the Azerbaijani-Russian border. The customs control is carried out in accordance with the timetable.

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee officially appealed to the Federal Customs Service of Russia to solve these problems.
