Azerbaijan ranked 31st in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) ranking among 180 world countries, says the report of the Yale and Columbia Universities, published Jan. 28.
While compiling the ranking, the indices of state care about the health of inhabitants, air condition, sanitary norms, water resources, agriculture, forests, biodiversity, climate change are taken into account.
Azerbaijan gained 83.78 points, by improving the indices by 18.1 percent for the past 10 years.
The country was ahead of all CIS countries. Russia ranked 32nd.
The list is headed by Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Slovenia.
EPI rating is compiled every two years. Azerbaijan ranked 63rd in 2014.
