Chinese aircraft continues flight after emergency landing in Baku

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb.17

By Maksim Tsurkov - Trend:

Boeing 737 aircraft, owned by China Southern Airlines, continued its flight as the fog lifted, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) told Trend Feb.17.

The aircraft flying on Urumqi-Tbilisi route, made an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku due to the heavy fog which fell on Tbilisi, Georgia, according to AZAL.

"Baku-Tbilisi flight of AZAL was delayed for the same reason," said the company.

Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that the Tbilisi International Airport couldn't receive up to ten flights due to the heavy fog in Georgia's capital.

Meanwhile, the flight from Istanbul to Georgia with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, has also been cancelled.
