The actual deficit of Azerbaijan's 2016 state budget may be less than it was projected, if it is possible to maximally use potential and improve the quality of tax and customs administration, says Vugar Gulmammadov, chairman of Azerbaijani Accounting Chamber.
He made the remarks addressing the Azerbaijani parliament Feb. 23, during discussions there on the renewed draft 2016 state budget.
The state budget deficit is expected to reach 1.673 billion manats, according to the updated forecast.
As of Feb. 23, the official exchange rate is 1.5612 AZN/USD.
Gulmammadov also called for executing state budget more transparently and purposefully.
He also said the state budget revenues are planned to increase by 15.5 percent up to 16.8 billion manats.
