The majority of Kazakh population keeps their savings in banks, according to the survey held in all the regions of the country in July. The survey was conducted by GfK Kazakhstan company among 1,500 adult residents of the country living in the regional centers, Kazakh National bank reported on Aug. 4.
As much as 54.7 percent of the voters said they put their savings on bank deposit, 32.7 prefer to keep savings in cash, 9.8 percent invest in real estate.
As much as 81.9 percent of the interviewed people keep their savings in national currency, tenge, 25.3 percent – in US dollars, 14.5 percent – in Russian rubles, 7.2 percent in euro.
Meanwhile 86.7 percent of the voters said they weren’t able to save money last month.
