Baku, Azerbaijan, Aug. 5

By Elena Kosolapova – Trend:

Kazakhstan has no plans to participate in the construction of an oil refinery in Iran, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy told Trend.

“No requests on the establishment of the refinery have been received from economic entities by the Kazakh Ministry of Energy,” said the press service of the ministry.

Director General for Mazandaran provincial Organization of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Mohammad Pour Omran said June 26 that Iran and Kazakhstan planned to build a joint venture oil refinery in Amirabad Port, IRNA reported earlier.

Pour Omran said that the refinery will be processing Kazakhstan oil and then exporting to other countries.

He said that oil swap is another proposal for bilateral cooperation.
