Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector increased by 2.6 percent in January-July 2016, while the oil sector increased by 0.7 percent compared to the same period of 2015, a report of State Statistics Committee said.
The total industrial production (the volume of produced goods and rendered industrial services) in Azerbaijan amounted to 17.6 billion manats (1.6204 AZN/USD on Aug. 19) during the period, which is 0.9 percent more than in January-July 2015.
During the period, the production in the mining industry was 11.5 billion manats (65.1 percent of the entire industrial production), which is 0.9 percent more than in January-July 2015.
Oil output was 24.7 million tons during the period and natural gas output stood at 17.46 billion cubic meters.
In January-July 2016, oil output increased by 0.7 percent in Azerbaijan as compared to the same period of 2015, while gas output rose by 0.9 percent.
The value of the processing industry’s products was five billion manats (28.6 percent of total industrial output) during the period, or 2.8 percent more than in the same period of 2015.
In the processing industry, the highest growth was observed in production of computers, electronic products (2.2 times), weaving industry (2.8 times), repair and installation of machinery and equipment (73 percent).
Production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam decreased by 5 percent in January-July 2016, compared to the same period of 2015, while water supply, treatment and recycling of waste decreased by 0.1 percent.
