Baku, Azerbaijan, Aug. 24
By Azad Hasanli – Trend:
French automobile concern Renault plans to deliver cars to Azerbaijan from Russia, Reuters reported Aug. 24 citing the concern’s management in Russia.
Renault has already started to deliver cars to Kyrgyzstan from Russia. Meanwhile, the company wants to expand opportunities to localize the production thanks to the access to new markets of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), while car sales in Russia decrease against the background of the economic crisis.
The first export Renault vehicles were delivered to Kyrgyz market after the country’s full membership in the Eurasian Economic Union entered into force in August. Renault Russia, which supplies cars to near abroad since 2010, currently exports 12 percent of total volume of Russia-produced Renault cars.
Renault Russia exports such car models as Renault Logan, Renault Sandero, Renault Sandero Stepway, Renault Duster and Renault Captur.
