By Seba Aghayeva – Trend:
Hungary’s tourism market is open for Azerbaijani investments, Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Imre Laszloczki said in an interview with Trend.
“The Hungarian tourism market is quite diverse and well developed, but not replete. There are always segments that are worth developing. Naturally, we would also welcome the Azerbaijani capital in such sectors as hotel industry, thermal and wellness tourism, real estate, as a whole,” the envoy said.
Tourism market is one of the most developing sectors of the Hungarian economy – its share in the country’s GDP is 10.4 percent, according to him.
In general, experts believe Hungary is a perfect country for investment in tourism and logistics, Laszloczki said.
“Institutionally, promotion of Hungarian investment projects is entrusted to the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency. A number of investment projects in tourism, worth 7-150 million euros, are presented on the website of the organization (hipa.hu/hip-real-estate),” he noted.
The embassy regularly informs relevant structures of Azerbaijan about Hungarian investment proposals, the diplomat added.
“In Hungary, there is an attractive, multistage system to promote foreign investment, including tax incentives, direct public subsidies, and grants for personnel training, as well as raising money from European funds,” Laszloczki said.
“Depending on the region, the number of jobs created, and the investment volume, investors are provided with an individual system of preferences,” he added.
