Azerbaijan exported goods worth $804.6 million in January 2017, that is, 25.7 percent more than in January 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of the public sector in the export was almost $729 million, while the share of the private sector was $60.3 million and the share of individuals was $15.4 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, plastics and plastic products, as well as fruits and vegetables in January 2017.
Imports exceeded $450.05 million in January 2017, which is 3.64 percent more than in January 2016. The share of the public sector in the import operations was $44.9 million, while the share of the private sector was $378.8 million and the share of individuals was $26.34 million.
Azerbaijan imported mainly machinery and mechanisms, electronic equipment, ferrous materials, plastics, wood and medicines.
In January 2017, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations increased by 16.79 percent and amounted to $1.25 billion, as compared to January 2016.
Azerbaijan completed the year 2016 with positive balance of $354.6 million, as compared to the positive balance of $214.3 million in January 2016.
In total, Azerbaijan exported 907 kinds of goods and imported 4,463 kinds of goods in January 2017.
Some 117 countries were Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners.
